Wi-Fi Mesh is a network system composed of multiple interconnected Wi-Fi routers or nodes that work together to provide consistent and reliable wireless coverage across a large area. Unlike traditional single-router setups, mesh networks dynamically route data between nodes to optimise performance and coverage.

How It Works

In a Wi-Fi Mesh system, each node communicates wirelessly with the others, creating a unified network that appears as a single SSID (network name) to devices. When a device connects to the network, data is automatically routed through the most efficient path, whether directly to the main router or via intermediate nodes. This setup reduces dead zones and improves signal strength in hard-to-reach areas. The nodes continuously monitor network conditions and adjust routes dynamically to maintain optimal performance and stability.

Mesh networks often include a main router connected to the internet and multiple satellite nodes placed strategically around the coverage area. These nodes communicate using dedicated backhaul channels or shared wireless links, depending on the system design. The network management is typically handled via a central app or web interface, allowing users to add or remove nodes, monitor performance, and optimise coverage easily.
