A fuzzy logic system is a computing approach that allows for reasoning with degrees of truth rather than the traditional binary true or false values. It enables computers to handle uncertain, imprecise, or vague information in a way similar to human decision-making.

How It Works

Fuzzy logic systems use fuzzy sets, which assign a degree of membership to elements within a set, ranging from 0 (not a member) to 1 (full member). Unlike classical logic, where statements are either entirely true or false, fuzzy logic allows for partial truths. The system applies fuzzy rules and inference mechanisms to process input data, combining these degrees of truth to produce outputs that reflect real-world uncertainty. The process often involves fuzzification (converting crisp inputs into fuzzy values), applying fuzzy rules, and then defuzzification (converting fuzzy outputs back into precise results).
